Food For Thought

The documentary we intend to film will look at the issue of healthy eating and our attitude towards it. The past few years have seen a current trend in the rise of TV programs such as 'You Are What You Eat', and the popular documentary-film 'Supersize me', in which we are advised to eat “five a day” and see many food products now been labeled according to their portion of five a day. With a growing number of illnesses and diseases relating to obesity and bad diet we will take a look at the views of a cross section of the general public.
Beginning with a scripted commentary on researched background information looking at diet in the UK and the rise in obesity and health related issues, we intend to raise the viewers awareness of the growing problems linked to a bad diet, with the use of vox pops we will collect opinions from the general public, regarding their attitude towards healthy eating .
We will then lead on to introduce Anna Middleton, a nutritionist and raw food specialist who is passionate about ‘living foods’ and has come up with many interesting and tasty recipes and now runs workshops on how to make highly nutritious dishes. Anna will talk a little about nutrition and the benefits of raw food and will then go on to demonstrate how to make one of her recipes, which we will put to the test by giving it to the general public and recording their reactions and opinions. The aim will be to show the audience that healthy food isn’t just about lettuce leaves and beetroot juice but can actually be fun tasty and relatively easy to make and something we all could incorporate into our lives.
